In the early 1990s Broeri studied at the Free Academy of Visual Art in The Hague. Over the years she has developed herself further in an autodidactic manner. In the meantime she has exhibitions to her name and she also works on commission.
Broeri works with acrylic paint on linen. She opts for all sizes, from very small to very large.
In her first years as a visual artist expressionism determined the style of her work. Subsequently, her attention turned mainly to women. Which led to a number of “Faces to Remember” exhibitions.
From that moment on her style developed in an "impressionist" way, into a form of magical realism. Sobriety became her strength. But lavish colours are still present. Broeri gives her models an aura that shows a sense of melancholy. Yet in balans within their world.
